We strongly believe in introducing innovative pedagogy in teaching from enhancing depth of specialization to add personality development features while preparing the Global Business leaders of the future. Stevens belies of teaching are harbored and governed by the student's background knowledge and experiences, personal situations, environment as well as learning goals set by the students and teachers. Stevens Business School believes in the holistic education, which develops the overall personality of the students. The pedagogy of Stevens is as follows
Lectures
:
Lectures are one of the best teaching method in many circumstances for most of the students; especially for communicating conceptual knowledge, where there is a significant gap between lecturer and the Students. Stevens combines the skills of professionally experienced Faculties with audio-visual teaching aids like OHP, overhead LCD projection systems, etc.
Case Studies
:
Case studies are written summaries or synthesis of real-life cases that require students to tease out the key issues involved and to identify appropriate strategies for the resolution of the 'case'. The case study is in a sense a kind of simulation of a real-life in which the experience is secondhand and probably condensed. The important merit of the case study is that it allows a problem to be studied in a complex form, including elements of real-life events which it might be impossible to reproduce in the classroom. Typically the students are provided with case notes in advance and are expected to prepare their own solution to the problems or problems presented.
Guest Lectures
:
History has been witness to the fact that genius inspires genius. Leading academics are invited to present a scholarly lecture at Stevens. The speakers are invited to present an overview on a particular theme, drawing on their own research and teaching, and are encouraged to draw out implications for policy formation. The lectures are intended to be a source of intellectual stimulation and to foster debate within the students of Stevens. The Stevens invites a wide range of participants from universities, research institutes, other departments, and the private sector to these lectures.
Student Colloquium
:
Think of a student colloquium as another way of introducing young students and budding researchers to the world, with a bit more focus on research, compared to student volunteers. Instead of dragging buckets of coffee around and pointing attendees to the nearest toilets, these newcomers to wearable research got their proposals read by experts in their domains. The basic objective of the Student colloquium at Stevens is to generate awareness about the surrounding environment and the best practices among students as well as to inculcate the habit of reading beyond the course books and gain an equally comprehensive knowledge and view of the surroundings.
Industry Visits
:
In order to have better understanding of management, a number of industry visits are organized for students in consultation with concern faculty. Students identify the companies as per the course need of the concern faculty. Students submit the report and make presentation. Students are also encouraged to help faculty members for MDPs, seminars and conferences.
Working on Projects & Assignments
:
Projects often provide the base for sustainable development implementation. Project based activities allow students to work with lessons in a hands-on situation. They promote critical thinking skills and encourage creativity. When combined with a material already covered, this type of activity can provide students with the opportunity to better understand the prior lessons. Stevens believes in Project based reviews which provide students the opportunity to use their knowledge in an engaging and challenging way. Stevens has several projects identified for the students to select from, guidance to work on the project is provided by the course instructor, concerned.

Role Playing & Simulation
:
Role playing, a derivative of a socio-drama, is a method for exploring the issues involved in complex social situations. The objective of introducing the role play is that we want to teach our young people to think, but thinking at any level of complexity requires an exercise of three interdependent component categories of skills: problem-solving; communications; and self-awareness. Role playing gives students a chance to live the roles and practice the concepts before hand. Computerized business simulation games simulate the real business world environment.
